A MAN has been jailed for hiding in an attic with a wanted male and blocking the hatch in a bid to stop the police apprehending him.
Matthew McDonald, 29, of Charles Avenue, Bradford Moor, Bradford, was locked up by Bradford and Keighley magistrates after pleading guilty to impeding the prosecution of the man accused of domestic assault on March 2.
He also admitted obstructing a police officer on the same date and failing to answer to his bail on March 23.
McDonald was locked up for a total of 18 weeks on June 24 after breaching a suspended sentence order and a community order for shoplifting, and stealing a hi-fi system.
The Bench found that he had a flagrant disregard for court orders.
