West Yorkshire Police (WYP) has shared a number of job opportunities for Bradford residents as part of its latest recruitment drive.

Applicants can earn while they learn and get a degree or diploma in the process, or take the Direct Entry Detective route.

The Direct Entry Detective Constable Initial Police Learning & Development Programme (IPLDP+) is for people who want to be a Detective Constable - offering a starting salary of £24,780 which increases to a minimum of £27,030 after two years.

 The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships (PCDA), aimed at people without a degree, has a starting salary of £21,654 - increasing to a minimum of £27,030 after three years.

The Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP), aimed at people with a degree, has a starting salary of £24,780 - increasing to a minimum of £27,030 after two years.

Applications will close on July 13.

It is part of the national Uplift scheme, created by the Government to reintroduce 20,000 officers to UK forces.

West Yorkshire Police has currently recruited 624 officers and 228 more are needed. 

It is hoped the campaign will attract individuals from a range of backgrounds, age and experience.
