SPECSAVERS is opening a new store in Bingley.
Open seven days a week, the new store and its 12 staff members will occupy the old Santander Bank premises on Main Street, following the bank’s departure from the town centre in July 2021.
Company bosses are hopeful that the new store will be ready for customers by the end of the summer.
Franchisee, Dominic Doran, who is from Bradford himself said he’s "so excited" to be opening the store on Bingley high street, with his business partner Raj Gill.
“Bingley is such a beautiful town, and we have so many customers from Bingley at our Keighley and Shipley stores which is a bit of a trek for them, especially for those that don’t drive so we’ve been looking at opening a store in Bingley for a while but now we’ve found the perfect location to do it.”
“My partner and I have had a presence in Bingley for a while, we’ve been involved with the farmers market and sponsored the local walking group so we can’t wait to open and get even more involved in the community.”
Services available will include all-optical and audiology services, routine eye, and hearing tests, contact lens consultations, frame repairs and the sale of glasses and contact lenses.

As well as investing in the new Specsavers in Bingley, business partners Dominic Doran and Raj Gill will continue to direct both the Shipley and Keighley branches of the store.
Existing Specsavers customers will be able to transfer to the new Bingley store by booking an appointment online or over the phone, Dominic added.
“I’m just so ecstatic, words cannot describe how happy I am to be opening a store in Bingley for the community. It’s a dream come true to be in the town centre and we’re so passionate to be a part of the community,” Dominic added.
The store will also offer a late-night opening on a Thursday where services will be available until 7.30 pm.
“We want to be able to accommodate for all walks of life, families and busy workers so they can fit in their appointments around their lifestyles and we want to be convenient for the local market,” he added.
The new store is situated on Bingley Highstreet, opposite Lidl.
It is expected to open on September 5, 2022.
Customers will be able to make an appointment at www.specsavers.co.uk once it has opened.
