THE UNIVERSITY of Bradford has been ranked among the top 20 in the UK for its students’ union.
The StudentCrowd University Awards 2022 ranked Bradford as the 17th best students’ union in the UK, out of 140 institutions.
The awards are the only ones which are based entirely on verified ac.uk student reviews – with UCAS reporting that online reviews by students are the second most important resource for students when choosing which university to attend.
Bradford’s students’ union, UBU, promotes cultural societies and also helps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those studying in the city.
UBU also has programmes such as Kickstart, which organises weekend residential trips for freshers, costing students just £10.
The Union also offers local volunteering opportunities, such as working with the National Science and Media Museum and charities across Yorkshire.
Ahmed Malik, UBU Student Affairs Officer, said: “The UBU sees this as a testament to the hard work put in by our amazing students and staff to bring the University experience back to normal post-Covid.
“At the beginning of the new academic year, UBU challenged ourselves to put on more events, more social opportunities and more engagement activities for our students.
“We look to improve on this further and carry on the good work that has been done.”
