HERE is a first look at what a proposed new supermarket will look like, as a consultation is underway into the plans.
Lidl has called on residents to comment on draft plans for a new store on Haworth Lane in Yeadon. The site, which includes the former DW Fitness Leisure Club, is located just outside the centre of Yeadon.
Once opened, the supermarket would create around 40 jobs including a variety of full and part-time roles.
The store will feature a circa 1,400m2 sales area including Lidl’s popular in-store bakery. The new supermarket with customer toilets and a 95-bay car park at the south of the site, nearer to Haworth Lane.
This car park will feature accessible, parent and child as well as two rapid Electric Vehicle charging points. Additionally, in line with the company’s commitment to sustainability, solar panels would be installed on the roof.
The Lidl store would be built predominantly on the same footprint as the former DW Fitness building but would be lower in height.
Residents can view the plans and comment online at yeadon.expansion.lidl.co.uk Lidl GB’s property team will review all feedback from the public consultation ahead of submitting a planning application to Leeds City Council in the following months.
