A THIRD strike drug dealer facing a minimum seven-year prison sentence has been given time to produce medical evidence to put before the court before he learns his fate.
Mohammed Umar Imran pleaded guilty this week to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine on December 17, 2020, and possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine at Bingley Road, Bradford, on February 23 last year.
Imran, 33, of Spring Bank Place, Manningham, Bradford, knew he was going to prison, his barrister Stephen Uttley told Bradford Crown Court.
He was ‘under no illusions’ as a third-strike Class A drug dealer, Mr Uttley stated.
“It’s prison, it’s just how many years.”
Mr Uttley asked Judge Jonathan Rose to adjourn the case to allow Imran to gather medical evidence to put before the sentencing judge.
He had been a drug addict at the time and had suffered a very recent family bereavement.
Judge Rose adjourned sentence until July 27, warning Imran that he was going to get a substantial jail sentence.
He renewed his bail until that date.
