A FURTHER five Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported over the last 14 days in Bradford hospitals.

According to the latest NHS figures, two further deaths were reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between June 11 and 24. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: June 13 and 18.

Meanwhile, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust recorded three further deaths during the same period. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: May 29 and June 17 and 20.

The total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 1,252 - 889 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 361 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, a further 603 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the same 14-day period. Their families have been informed.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
