POLICE have confirmed the cyclist who was involved in a crash with a vehicle in Barkerend earlier this week has died.

The 61-year-old man, from Leeds, suffered serious injuries and passed away in hospital.

The collision took place in Byron Street, near Gilpin Street, at 6.48am on Wednesday morning.

The driver of the vehicle, who stopped at the scene, is currently helping police with enquiries.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam footage of the collision itself.
