POLICE have released two men on bail but kept another in custody after a fight broke out in Gomersal, leading to one man being rushed to hospital.
Officers were called out at 12.48am on Wednesday to reports of an incident on Oxford Road, between the junction of Huddersfield Road and Lower Lane.
One man was taken to hospital with a serious chest injury and police say he is still in a stable condition today.
The road was closed for all of yesterday, leading to heavy traffic on Gomersal Road both ways from Lower Lane to A62 Leeds Road.
Kirklees CID has urged anyone with information to contact police by calling 101 or using the LiveChat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
