Sara Johnson wrote: “Acropolis in the ‘80s, the pie & peas cafe in the market - saucer of peas with mint sauce 2p. The cafe in Rackhams - old Brown & Muffs (that building & especially the lift! ) & Orlando’s was very special.”

Kevin Brown: “Cocina Mexican restaurant, imperial Chinese, quiet Greek restaurant on Thornton road near belldean rd Louise Connors: “When I first came to Bradford uni in mid 90s there was a curry house just up Great Horton Road called the Shabina. Curries were £2 including rice, tasted great.”

Cathy Henwood: “Peashad Gujarati veggie curry House when it was a small place before they poshed up and opened a huge place in Drighlington. Food is still great but the atmosphere and prices quite different. Coming 2nd in Gordon Ramsey best restaurant got them to grow and feel the need to move, just a shame they moved out of Bradford and lost the local Gujarati cafe feel.
