A DISQUALIFIED driver blew more than four times the drink-drive limit when stopped by police, and shockingly was driving drunk while a young child was in the back of the car.

West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit officers made the arrest after spotting the white Renault Captur on Tuesday in Leeds.

The driver, who was found to be disqualified, provided a roadside breath sample of 146 micrograms, the legal limit is 35 mgs per 100 millilitres of breath.

The unit tweeted: "Leeds: Vehicle stopped and driver found to be disqualified.

"Things quickly went from bad to worse when we noticed a young child in the rear and then the driver provided a roadside breath sample of 146. More than 4 times over the limit.

"Driver now in custody."

Roads Policing Officer Claire Gray added: "Totally unacceptable.

"Thankfully my team took this driver off the road before someone was seriously hurt."
