June has been a month of celebrations at Britannia Care, and there has been a great deal to celebrate.

First of all there have been the simple things to rejoice in, such as some glorious sunny days. It was a particularly warm and sunny day for the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, earlier this week, on Tuesday, June 21.

And last but not least there was the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the beginning of the month, which saw residents and staff of Britannia Care immerse themselves in the five-day celebration. Quite a few of the residents recall celebrating the Queen’s Silver and Golden jubilees in 1977 and 2002 respectively, and there was a real party atmosphere at Britannia Care throughout the Jubilee weekend.

While Britain’s summer weather can be a bit unpredictable, what is a certainty is regardless of the weather, Britannia Care residents are making the most of these summer months.

“At Britannia Care we understand how important it is to our residents to keep active,” said Britannia Care founder and director, Mr Chaudhry Inayat Khan, adding: “with the improvement in the weather we believe it is important to be able to take our residents outdoors to continue and build on the outstanding care we provide.

“Being able to organise trips and outdoor events and activities enhances the wellbeing of both residents and staff.”

In recent weeks residents have visited the seaside and some of the glorious local parks, where there’s always a nice treat to mark the occasion.

“Staff and residents all love an ice cream at the end of a trip but then, who doesn’t like an ice cream!” said fellow director of Britannia Care, Anis Khan.

“And barbecues are popular, too, and we have been fairly fortunate that the recent run of warm sunny days has allowed us to run a series of outdoor – and indoor – activities, which have been loads of fun, both to organise and participate in.”

As well as priding themselves on the facilities, activities and the level of care provided by Britannia Care’s highly trained staff, the group also pride themselves on being very approachable, ensuring that there will be a member of staff you can talk to who will be happy to guide you through all you need to know about placing a loved one in Britannia’s care.

Being purpose-built, Britannia Care was able to include in the design important elements essential to providing high quality care, such as lift access to all floors, and corridors wide enough to accommodate supportive aids, all of which ensures residents have a place they can call their own.

The Britannia Care’s multilingual staff have a long history of providing care to the area’s multicultural community, with over 30 years of experience, knowledge and understanding in providing expert care to a diverse clientele.
