ALTHOUGH Bradford is being bathed in glorious sunshine this morning, the Met Office is warning that thunderstorms are on their way to Yorkshire later today.

The Met Office forecast for the Yorkshire and the Humber is hot and sunny with cloud thickening later and a chance of evening thunderstorms.

The Met Office forecast for the Yorkshire and the Humber is for a fine, dry and largely sunny morning, before cloud bubbles up into the afternoon.

The odd heavy shower is likely through the afternoon, perhaps turning thundery later.

The Met Office says it will feel hot for many, with light winds and temperatures will rise above those seen on Wednesday, hitting a maximum temperature of 29°C.

There will be isolated thundery showers tonight, with heavy downpours and hail possible during the evening, but gradually fading as they clear north and east overnight.

Clear spells will develop, perhaps prolonged after midnight and temperatures will drop to 12°C.

Tomorrow there will be sunny spells at first with cloud soon thickening.

Scattered heavy showers will develop with a risk of hail and thunder.

It will be very warm, but less hot than today with high temperatures hitting 27 °C.

The outlook for Saturday to Monday is breezier through the weekend and into the coming week with good spells of sunshine likely, but also occasional showers, some of which will be heavy.

Temperatures will be near average or just below for late June.
