A MAN has appeared in court charged with being in possession of a knife in Bradford city centre.
Subhas Chunilal Patel, 45, of no fixed address, was jailed for eight months, suspended for 12 months, for having with him, without good reason or lawful authority, in a public place, City Hall, City Park, Bradford, an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a knife.
The offence, possession knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place - criminal justice act 1988, took place on June 13, 2022.
Patel was also ordered to pay £120 compensation for destroying/damaging property, a vehicle, to an unknown value, at West Yorkshire Police, Nelson Street, Bradford, on June 13, 2022.
He was also ordered to pay £480 compensation for destroying/damaging property, a vehicle, of a value unknown. This offence also took place at Junction, Mill Lane and Nelson Street, Bradford, on June 13, 2022.
Patel was ordered to pay £120 compensation for a third charge of destroying/damaging property, a vehicle, of a value unknown, at Centenary Square, Bradford, on June 13, 2022.
He pleaded guilty to all of the charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on June 15, 2022.
