BRADFORD Festival Choral Society perform Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas at the Ukrainian Club on Saturday, June 25.
The choir’s last concert, Bach's St Matthew Passion, achieved its largest audience since before the pandemic, and a bucket collection raised over £400 for the Ukraine appeal. There will be a similar collection at Saturday's concert, which includes madrigals by Barbara Strozzi, music by Lady Mary Dering and a J.S Bach cantata. The choir, led by musical director Thomas Leech, will be joined by musicians from Baroque in the North and talented young local soloists including Rhiannon Doogan, Patricia Yates, Aidan Edwards, Ruby Hendry and Jane Burnell.
Choir trustee Sara Daniel said: "The music is joyous and uplifting." Visit ticketsource.co.uk/bfcs/t-ondkmz
