HUNDREDS of people in Bradford were flying high yesterday as they got to witness some of the world’s biggest kites.
The Northern Kite Group hosted a kite display at Northcliffe Park, in Shipley on Saturday, between 11am and 4pm.
One member of the public who attended the event said there were hundreds of people enjoying the delights of the sky, with between 200 to 300 visitors.
They added: “There were over a dozen kites of varying shapes and sizes in the skies above Shipley.”
This included a giant teddy bear called Oscar measuring 64-feet long, which was made by group members Craig Harby and Sue Kennedy.
There was also an appearance from pipe-loving brothers, Mario and Luigi.
A gecko kite could be seen leaping into the air at one point, while a whale kite looked as if it was bursting through the ground.
Its fellow sea friend, an octopus, was also seen floating in the sky.
