A COMPANY director has appeared in court in relation to the maintenance of student flats in Bradford.

Bhupinder Chohan, of B and M Properties 1 Ltd, Keats Way, London, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court last month.

He and the firm were charged with contravening/failing to comply with an abatement notice.

Court documents state that between May 13 and October 1 last year, there was a failure to reinstate the gas supply to All Saints Hall and Trinity B at Laisteridge Lane Student Village, Laisteridge Lane, to “ensure the satisfactory supply of hot water to the kitchen and bathroom facilities to the said buildings and thus abate any recurrence of the said statutory nuisance within the said buildings, imposed by the notice”.

Chohan denied the offence and will next appear before the court for a trial on November 29.
