A BRADFORD desserts manufacturer is launching its campaign to support a charity with a 13-mile sponsored walk from Saltaire to Skipton.

Just Desserts Yorkshire, which is based at Shipley, have just announced Headlines Craniofacial Support as their charity of the year.

Headlines is a UK charity supporting people with craniosynostosis, a rare condition where a baby's skull does not grow properly, and other rare craniofacial conditions.

Craniosynostosis affects approximately one in UK 2,000 births every year.

The team at Just Desserts Yorkshire will kick off their fundraising campaign with a sponsored 13-mile walk from Roberts Park in Saltaire, along the canal, to Skipton.

The walk that iwill take place on Saturday, August 6, has already raised £1,800 for the charity.

Kate Williams, General Manager of Just Desserts, said: “At Just Desserts, we have seen firsthand the effects that a diagnosis of Craniosynostosis can have on a family with a very young baby.

“We're excited to be fundraising for Headlines over the next year as we know how invaluable their support is during what can be a very worrying and distressing time for all involved. We are delighted to support such a great charity.”
