A NEW industrial unit could be built on a plot of land between Shipley and Saltaire if new plans are approved.
31-33 Saltaire Road is a storage area on an industrial site at the edge of the World Heritage Site.
A new application by A Spolnick seeks permission to build a 352 square metre industrial unit on the site.
Access to the unit would be via Back Saltaire Road, while there would also be 17 parking spaces on the roof of the building β which would be accessed via Saltaire Road.

In total there would be 22 parking spaces on the site.
The application says the building will have solar panels, and be built to be energy efficient. It adds: βThe sum total of the above points will create a very efficient building, with a low carbon footprint, which is responsibly built in a sustainable location.β
A decision on the application is expected in August.
