POLLEN levels are forecast to be very high across Yorkshire over the next four days, according to an allergen expert.

Max Wiseberg, creator of HayMax organic allergen barrier balms, said hay fever sufferers should be “well prepared and do everything they can” to lessen their symptoms.

“One of the best things you can do is to create your own hay fever first aid kit,” he continued.

“I have been suggesting that people use a combination of natural products and conventional medicine for hay fever, dust and pet allergies, and many people find that this provides a good solution for them. Especially when pollen levels are so high.

“Pharmaceutical remedies are generally based on either antihistamines or steroid nasal sprays, whilst natural remedies are based on physical preventative measures, immune boosters or natural antihistamines.

“The interesting thing about this is that many of these remedies can be complementary to each other.

“If one helps but doesn’t do the whole job, you may be able to try other remedies at the same time and get a better result. In other words, you can create your own, bespoke hay fever first aid kit that suits your specific needs.”
