THE Vice President of the Law Society of England and Wales visited a Bradford solicitors’ firm.

Lubna Shuja, who will become President of the society in October, visited the offices of Mir Solicitors.

Lubna was born in Bradford and lived and worked in the city for many years before relocating.

She will become the first Asian, first Muslim and seventh female President since the establishment of the Law Society in 1825.

Idris Mir, of Mir Solicitors, said: “We are proud to welcome Lubna back to Bradford.

“The legal marketplace has changed massively since Lubna left 16 years ago, and as a result of recent social and economic changes, the legal infrastructure has benefited from massive technological advances."

The firm celebrates its 17th anniversary this year, in redeveloped offices with state-of-the-art facilities on Manchester Road.
