A WOMAN has appeared in court for being caught in Bradford city centre when she was barred from doing so.

Joanne Ghafoor, 51, C/O Sutton Grove, Bradford, faced one charge of failing to comply with a section 35 direction excluding a person from an area.

Ghafoor was in Bradford City Centre, Ivegate, and had failed, without reasonable excuse, to comply with a direction given to her under section 35 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in that she failed to leave the locality specified, namely Bradford city centre. This offence took place on March 27, 2022.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge.

Ghafoor pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on June 6, 2022.
