EMERGENCY services are currently dealing with a scene at an address in Bradford where toxic chemicals linked to the manufacture of drugs have been found.
At 4.34 pm yesterday, officers were called to a disturbance at the house in Westcroft Road, Great Horton.
During a search of the premises, officers found chemicals and evidence of drug production. A man has been arrested on suspicion of the production of Class A drugs and remains in custody.
A cordon was put in place for public safety, and specialist police and fire service resources were deployed to assess the scene.
While some evacuations of neighbouring homes were initially made, it has now been assessed that there is no wider risk from the chemicals to anyone outside of the address where they were found.
A scene is expected to remain in place over the coming days to allow the safe removal and disposal of the substances, as well as the forensic examination of the property, to assist the criminal investigation.
A spokesperson for West Yokrshire Police said: "We recognise the disruption caused to residents in the street and we thank them for their continued patience."
