A MAN was rushed to hospital after he had a bottle smashed over his head and was punched repeatedly while on the ground by a suspect who had the appearance of a rough sleeper in a city centre street robbery.
He had been approached by a male asking for money at around 3am on Friday morning in Heaton's Court, Leeds.
The victim, a man in his fifties, refused and had his phone, wallet and jacket stolen.
A scene was put in place in Heaton’s Court to undergo forensic examination and was lifted shortly after 10am.
The suspect was also described as white and of skinny build.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
