A BRADFORD live music venue says people not buying tickets in advance has meant they have been forced to cancel numerous events.

Tapestry Arts, on Factory Street, off Tong Street, have pleaded with customers to stop making last minute purchases as it is damaging their business.

Earlier today, the Tapestry Arts Facebook page posted: "We are having events pulled left, right and centre.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: The venue specialises in live music and comedy. The venue specialises in live music and comedy.

"Touring bands are cancelling whole tours due to poor ticket sales.

"We have also taken the very tough decision to reschedule or cancel certain events due to lack of interest.

"What we are noticing is that people are buying the majority of tickets in the last couple of days preceding the event.

"Unfortunately, we cannot operate on a last-minute scenario.

"We all need to know well in advance, there is much to plan behind the scenes that the public doesn’t see.

"Also when an event is cancelled, we instantly lose all the promotional and marketing costs that we’ve invested into promoting it. So yes, it costs us to cancel an event, casual staff lose shifts and the venue is closed without revenue.

"If you want to see a show, please buy your tickets in advance."
