The newly-launched Garage Watch is designed to reduce the impact of ‘menace’ nuisance bikes and quads in a Bradford district town by restricting the sale of fuel to them.

If the Shipley project proves successful, police say it be rolled out elsewhere in the force area.

The scheme is looking for the support of all service stations in the Shipley area.

Two locations already signed up and displaying the Garage Watch signs in their forecourts are the BP garage on Otley Road, Shipley, and the Shell garage on Bingley Road in Saltaire. It is a multi-agency partnership involving West Yorkshire Police, Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
