THE TEAM at Horton Housing Association have spoken of their delight after the business achieved Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation.

IiV is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management, and Horton Housing Association – based on Little Horton Lane – successfully achieved it after being assessed against six quality areas, including volunteer inclusion, recruiting and welcoming volunteers and valuing and developing volunteers.

Esther Douglas, Volunteer Service Manager, said: “I am very proud – this is the first time we have been awarded the quality mark and it shows that we value our volunteers, and demonstrates our commitment to volunteering.

“I am extremely proud of our team of volunteers and the staff who support them. Without them, we could not deliver such a great volunteering programme.”

Horton Housing Association offers a range of volunteering opportunities, such as gardening roles, furniture restoration projects, collecting and distributing donations and wellbeing café assistants.

Paul Gartland, Chief Executive Officer, added: “As we begin Volunteers’ Week, I am immensely pleased that Horton Housing Association has received this accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to delivering high standards and good practice in the management and support of those who volunteer across the organisation, and help others in a selfless way.”
