A POIGNANT legacy will be created in memory of a much-loved young DJ following his tragic death.

Toby Sullivan was only 30 years old when he suddenly died on Christmas Day last year.

His untimely death left his friends and family devastated, but they are now determined to make a difference.

They have raised more than £10,000 for the Reach Your Potential private counselling service, which Toby was accessing for help with addiction prior to his death.

The money raised will help to ensure other people can get the support they need.

Paddy Gallagher, who runs Reach Your Potential, said the money will help pay for therapy for people who are not able to access it, will aid the continuation of community-based work in the Baildon area and will also help to set up a new group at the Wyke-based Yorkshire Chair barbers, which is run by Toby’s close friend Jonathan Ward.

The group will be called ‘Man and the Mirror’ and the first session will be held on June 20 at 7pm for any adult male who would like to access support.

Toby’s mum Jain said: “If this money can help to just save one person’s life, I can’t ask for anything else.”

Paddy acknowledged the huge efforts of Toby’s friends and family in raising such a huge amount of money and described it as “unbelievable”.

He said: “Toby was a wonderful man, he had a real presence. It’s really sad, but out of that sadness, this has happened.”
