A BETTING company is offering relatively short odds for Bradford City to be in the Premier League by the time City of Culture 2025 rolls around.

The one-club city is celebrating today after it was announced yesterday on The One Show that it had won the title.

Bradford beat out County Durham, Wrexham and Southampton to be crowned UK City of Culture 2025 and will take over from Coventry, where the announcement was made by Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries.

It will mean opportunity and investment for the city and its young population but where do The Bantams stand in all of this?

Bradford City have languished in the lower reaches of the Football League for almost two decades after dropping down into League 1 in 2004.

The Bantams were last in the Premier League back in the 2000/01 season, finishing rock bottom after a heroic escape from relegation the season before.

Mark Hughes's men have been in League 2 for the past three seasons.

But betting firm, Betway, seem to think a miracle rise through the pyramid could well be on the cards, releasing special odds relating to The Bantams and 2025.

Bradford City are 50/1 to be plying their trade in the top tier in 2025.

These odds seem relatively short given City's torrid time in recent years, Leicester's odds of 5000/1 to win the Premier League and the fact The Bantams would need to get back-to-back promotions in order to take their place in the Premier League for the 2025/26 season.

Interestingly Betway place City at 250/1 to win the FA Cup in 2025 - something which is seemingly more likely given their heroics in the League Cup in 2013, reaching the final to play Swansea City.

There is also the "magic of the cup" factor.

The final City Of Culture 2025 odds offered by Betway relate to Bradford Bulls.

Betway reckon the city's premier rugby league side are 40/1 shots at bagging The Challenge Cup in that year.
