THERE were long delays on a motorway this morning due to a car breaking down.
The vehicle came to a halt on the M62 eastbound carriageway, between junction 26 (M606, Chain Bar) and junction 27 (M621, Gildersome).
The car broke down in lane three (of three) and this was closed, as a result.
This closure caused congestion to build in the area and normal journeys were taking an extra 25 minutes in the area.
A recovery team went to the scene and the lane was reopened at 8.34am.
