PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has sent his congratulations to Bradford after it clinched the title of City of Culture 2025. 

There were jubilant scenes in City Park this evening as the momentous moment was broadcast live on BBC's The One Show. 

The Prime Minister wrote on Twitter: "Congratulations to the city of Bradford on becoming the UK’s City of Culture for 2025.

"This title builds on the rich history and dynamism of the city, bringing investment and opportunity for everyone who lives and works there."

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries said Bradford “thoroughly deserved” being named as the UK City of Culture 2025.
