HOMES had to be evacuated today after a 'grenade' was discovered in a garden.
West Yorkshire Police said the alarm was raised just after 3pm.
"Police were called to a residential address on Halifax Road, Liversedge at about 3.06pm this afternoon a member of the public reported finding a device resembling a grenade while digging in a garden," said a spokesperson.
"A small number of houses were evacuated nearby and a cordon was put in place,
"The item was taken away just after 5.30pm by the army Explosives Ordnance Department for disposal."
