A BRADFORD woman has been fined in court for failing to test for Covid-19 while on holiday.

Vernice Poynter, of St. Margarets Place in Great Horton, flew into Gatwick Airport on March 19 last year.

She arrived in the country without a reasonable excuse for not testing for coronavirus on day two and day eight of her trip away.

The offence was contrary to regulations 3B(2) and 6(1)(ab) and (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020.

The court issued the 46-year-old a £440 fine and must pay £90 in court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.

The case was heard in Greater Manchester Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 23.

Poynter must pay the £574 total by June 20 of this year.
