BRADFORD Cathedral will host five events and services to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee next week.

Taking place over half-term, the festivities begin on Tuesday, May 31, where crafts, colouring and quizzes are on offer from 10am to 12pm, and from 1pm to 3pm.

Guided tours of the historic cathedral will also take place at 11am and 2pm.

The monthly Bradford Faith Trail also returns on Saturday, June 4, and will feature some added ‘royal’ details to mark the Jubilee.

The route will start at the Catholic Church on Leeds Road at 10am. To book a place, email education@bradfordcathedral.org.

The following day, the Cathedral will host a thanksgiving service at 3.30pm, led by Bishop Nick, the Bishop of Leeds, in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire and the Lord Mayor of Bradford.

Performances will be led by City of Bradford Brass Band and the Cathedral Chamber Choir.

There are two further events on Saturday, June 11, where people can join Bradford Cathedral Choir and the City of Bradford Brass Band for an afternoon of music, beginning at 2pm.

It will be followed by a Jubilee street party - including a buffet, live music, games and a fancy-dress competition for children – at 4pm.
