DEVELOPERS behind the proposed conversion of a steel-framed farm barn in Bell Busk to a four bedroom home have been told they will need to apply for planning permission.
Sutcliffe Construction had submitted a prior approval notification to Craven District Council to convert the roadside barn at Ghyll Syke, which if approved would have removed the need to submit a planning application.
But, the council has rejected the prior notification and told the applicant that a planning application will be needed.
In its submission to the council, the applicant's agent said the five frame barn, built in around 1980, said the structure was in 'good condition' with lower walls former railway sleepers. The plan was described as 'sustainable' because it represented the re-use of an existing building.
