A FIRST for Bradford will be taking place this week, as Choices Community Café launches at the Thornbury Centre.

The event will focus on end-of-life care as well as healthcare, employment and training.

The event will be hosted and facilitated by Naz Sheikh, project lead for Choices End of life care - a service that provides non-clinical support for both patients and carers.

The community cafe will take place on Wednesday, May 25, between 12 noon and 2pm at the Thornbury Centre.

Ms Sheikh said: “This is a chance for people to have a chat and share what they are concerned about.

“We’ve got a lot of support available, and we want people to know what’s on offer and how we can help them, whether that be through organising activities to get them out of their house or by getting them the facilities and services they require.”

A number of local organisations will be supporting the event with stalls on the day, from Carers Resource, Skills House, CABAD, Inspired Neighbourhoods, Hope Yorkshire, Bradnet, People Plus and Cellar Trust.

The event is free for everyone with hot drinks, lunch, and treatment of “CHOICE” from Beauty and Massage therapists.

The aim is to make the Choices Community Cafe a monthly event with a change to locations, to ensure all communities across Bradford are supported.
