A HAND saw and a set of bolt cutters were found by police during a weapons sweep in the Bradford district.

Sergeant Terri Green, of the Baildon, Bingley and Bingley Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, tweeted about both objects on Friday.

They were found during Operation Sceptre in the Windhill and Wrose area.

It comes after a sawn-off shotgun was handed in to police in Shipley earlier that week.

A police spokesperson added: "Officers from Shipley NPT have been working hard as part of Operation Sceptre.

"We have executed several warrants and conducted various weapons sweeps in all the Shipley wards.

"Officers have also attended local primary schools and delivered an input on the dangers on knife crime.

"Acting on local intelligence officers have attended two addresses where weapons were seized.

"That is two fewer weapons off the streets of Shipley helping to keep our communities safe."
