A FURTHER eight Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported over the last seven days in Bradford hospitals.

According to the latest NHS figures, four further deaths were reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between May 14 and 20. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: May 15, 16, 17 and 18.

Meanwhile, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust recorded four further deaths during the same period. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: May 16 and 17, with one death each on April 19 and 21.

The total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 1,247 - 887 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 358 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, a further 430 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the same seven-day period. Their families have been informed.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.”
