A BRADFORD man is in a serious condition in hospital after his car smashed into a wall and lamppost.

It happened on Saturday, May 14 on the A629 Cononley Lane Ends at around 12.15am.

Two men who are also from Bradford were arrested following the early-hours smash.

It happened when a white Audi A6, believed to have been travelling in convoy with a black Volkswagen Golf and a white Audi A3, left the road while travelling in the direction of Cross Hills.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The Audi A6 struck a drystone wall and a lamppost, leaving the driver, a 23-year-old man from Bradford, with serious facial and abdominal injuries. He was taken to Airedale Hospital, where he still currently remains in a serious condition.

"It’s believed that the three vehicles have travelled together from the centre of Skipton, onto Keighley Road and then onto the A629 towards Cross Hills when the collision occurred.

"Anyone who saw any of the vehicles either prior to the collision, the collision itself or who has captured dashcam or doorbell footage of the vehicles as they travelled is asked to call 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to Traffic Constable 174 David Minto.
