A CHILD was injured after being hit by a car while on a bicycle near a school earlier today.
The schoolboy was cycling on Oxford Road, Gomersal, on Thursday morning when the vehicle collided with him.
The road traffic collision took place at 8.20am this morning (Thursday) next to Gomersal Primary School.
The boy suffered minor injuries which are understood to have been treated for at the scene.
Traffic was caused in the aftermath of the incident but no roads were closed.
A spokesperson from the West Yorkshire Police force said: "Police were called to a road traffic collision involving a child on a bicycle and a car on Oxford Road, Gomersal, at 8:20am this morning.
"The male child suffered what are believed to be minor injuries."
