THE Clevedon at Audley Clevedon in Ben Rhydding has launched its Royal tea to celebrate the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee.

The bespoke menu has been designed with a doff of the hat to Her Royal Highness and will be available from 23rd May to 5th June.

The sandwiches include coronation chicken, Earl Grey infused cucumber and smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Plain and fruit scones will be served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve. To top off the afternoon tea, sweets will include a Royal fruit cake and the “Queen’s favourite” lemon posset pudding.

Afternoon tea has long been recognised as a British pastime since its introduction by the Duchess of Bedford in the 1800s.

Nearly 200 years on, it is still an event enjoyed by many across the country.

Kevin Airs, General Manager of Audley Clevedon, said: “We’re really looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s incredible achievement over the Jubilee weekend, both with property owners and those in the local community.”

The Royal afternoon tea, which starts at £22.50, is available to property owners and external customers. Pre-booking is required. Call 01943 968583 for restaurant reservations and enquiries or visit clevedonrestaurant.co.uk/
