A DRIVER was arrested on suspicion of a string of offences - including theft, driving over the limit and assaulting an emergency worker - in the Bradford district.
To make matters worse, the individual was also wanted for three failure to appear warrants in another force area elsewhere in the country, so has remained in police custody to appear at court in relation to those matters
Following several reports of a vehicle being driven erratically, West Yorkshire Police officers and the Steerside Enforcement Team were deployed to Keighley.
The van was subsequently located in the Stanbury area and found to be on cloned plates.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst over the prescribed limit (drunk/drug driving), driving otherwise than in accordance with licence (provisional licence holder only) and having no insurance.
The driver was also arrested for the assault of an emergency worker as a result of the incident.
The white Vauxhall Combo van was seized by West Yorkshire Police.
On Tuesday, a police spokesperson said: "Thank you to the members of the public who assisted in providing updated locations/sightings of this vehicle.
"Another dangerous driver off the roads of Keighley."
