THE 5th Charity Aireborough Beer Festival will take place from May 19 to 21 and will focus on the brewers in and around Leeds.

The Festival will run over five sessions at Guiseley Theatre beginning on the May 19 from 7pm to 10.30 pm then on May 20 and 21 from noon to 4.30 pm and 5.30pm to 10.30pm.

With both cask and keg beers available Meanwood Brewery has promised an unusual cask – Bubbly Rascal, a mix of raspberry and vanilla on a biscuity pale ale whilst Shadow Brewing from Otley offers a cask of Phantom Signs the addition of Slovenian hops producing a citrusy pine flavour. Keg beers will include Festoon from Leeds own Amity Brewing and a brand new beer Little Wonder, an IPA from Horsforth Brewery following collaboration with Macclesfield’s Redwillow. Joining the 20 cask and eight keg beers will be six ciders including Doktored Avalanche, a medium gothic number made from dark fruits.

A full range of Yeadon based Artful Pour’s flavoured gins will be on offer together with prosecco. Food will be served all day with the Yorkshire Pizza Company featuring at the Friday evening session and both Saturday sessions.

Rotary Club President John Kitching has worked hard on putting together an eclectic mix of music including, Thursday: Megan Swan and Ben Jordan. Friday evening: Cornell Daley, United as One and Easily Distracted. Saturday afternoon: The Escalators. Saturday evening: Purple Bananas, Sam Hutchinson and Nigel Passey.

Tickets are on sale at www.guiseleytheatre.org/boxoffice. The ticket includes a glass, 2 tokens and a programme. CAMRA card carrying members receive 2 extra tokens on the 19th session and the afternoon session of the 20th. Latecomers will be able to pay at the door.
