POLICE have revealed one of six teenagers arrested after an attack was detained on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, being drunk and disorderly and possessing cocaine.

West Yorkshire Police’s Leeds West NPT said yesterday that six people had been arrested following an assault on Cemetery Road, near Pudsey Cemetery on Sunday between 5pm and 6pm.

A spokesperson for the force said a 15-year-old boy was attacked and suffered cuts and bruises.

This is being treated as assault by occasioning actual bodily harm.

There was also a public order incident around the same time where abuse was direct at members of the public by youths in the Church Lane area – just a street down from Cemetery Road.

The six people that were arrested in relation to the assault were all males between the ages of 14 and 17.

They have since been released on bail but are banned from the area and associating with each other while investigations continue.

The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, being drunk and disorderly and being in possession of cocaine.

Inspector Phil Gill, who heads the Leeds West NPT, said: “My officers will be proactively monitoring these individuals to enforce their bail conditions and will take robust and positive action to deter any further incidents involving youths in the area.”

Police have launched an appeal for information to help their enquiries.
