COKE, Pepsi and Heineken make up a quarter of branded litter found by volunteers during an extensive clean-up project across the UK.
Isn’t it time that companies such as these, who have vast sums at their disposal joined forces with the Government to introduce a deposit return scheme which would encourage people to take rubbish back to collection points for recycling? Such schemes have long been talked about but not put into practice. Successive governments have done nothing to address littering and don’t seem to take it seriously. It’s time it was addressed and we started to rid the land of this blight.
