A BRADFORD man has avoided jail for a spate of thefts from city shops.
Charanjit Singh, 52, of Cross Lane, was jailed for a total of 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, on four theft from a shop charges.
In the first offence, he was committed to prison for three weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing three bedding sets, worth £60, from Primark stores on April 16, 2022. He was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
He was also committed to prison for three weeks, to run consecutively, suspended for 12 months, for stealing three pairs of Adidas trainers, worth £119.97, from TK Maxx, Forster Square Retail Park, Valley Road, Bradford, on March 24, 2022.
Singh was committed to prison for three weeks, to run consecutively, suspended for 12 months, for stealing spirits, worth £70, from Marks & Spencer’s, The Broadway, Bradford, on March 26, 2022.
Singh was jailed for a further three weeks, to run consecutively, suspended for 12 months, for stealing clothing, worth £340, from JD Sports, Forster Square Retail Park, Valley Road, Bradford, on April 5, 2022.
Singh pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on May 12, 2022.
