A WOMAN kept cats at her home despite being banned from doing so under an animal welfare law.

Ann Dunn, 47, of Weetwood Road in the Girlington area of Bradford, was disqualified from having cats in her care on June 29 last year after being convicted of and sentenced for a related offence.

But she was caught with two cats at her house on January 30 this year.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to breaching a disqualification imposed after conviction under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.

Dunn was fined £66 for the offence.

She was ordered to pay £185 in total, including a £34 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £85.

Her guilty plea was taken into consideration.
