FILMING has begun on a partially closed Bradford district bypass today.

There is currently one-way traffic flow (northbound) on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, otherwise known as the Bingley Bypass, from its junction with Bradford Road to its junction at Aire Valley Road.

A public notice was published by Bradford Council but residents, Bingley Town Council and district councillors were left questioning what exactly is being filmed there.

Speculation has been rife across social media this weekend with everyone curious to what it could be.

Most people are guessing that more Happy Valley takes are being shot with mock-up police vehicles and ambulances on set.

This would make sense given the third and final series has been filming at locations across West Yorkshire, including Thornton in Bradford last month, since early this year.

Alternative routes for affected traffic are via Bradford Road, Main Street, Keighley Road and Aire Valley Road.

Pedestrian access has been maintained at all times.

The closure has come into action at 6am and will last until 9pm on Sunday, May 15.

The notice did state that the closure 'could remain in force for up to 18 months if necessary' - although this seems likely to be standard spiel for such public notices rather than any reflection on the number of takes that may be needed by the film crew.
