A FURTHER 17 Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported over the last seven days in Bradford hospitals.

According to the latest NHS figures, 12 further deaths were reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between May 7 and 13.

One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: December 11, 2020; February 25, 2022; March 18, 24, April 4, 7, 10, 15; May 8, 11 and two further deaths recorded from February 24, 2022.

Meanwhile, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust recorded five further deaths during the same period. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: April 19, 16, 15, May 6 and 8.

The total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 1,239 - 883 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 354 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, a further 694 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the same seven-day period. Their families have been informed. The figures are reported daily.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.”
