* NEXT month the Bradford School of Art graduate fashion show is set to explode with creativity and a mesmerising display of talent. BA (Hons) Fashion students will host the glamorous event at the Bradford School of Art Lister Building on June 10, and tickets can be booked for 1pm, 6.30pm or 8pm shows.

Collections featured in this year’s show include Level 5 BA (Hons) Fashion student Maimoona Darr who worked on a collection using the theme of the artist and the artist’s smock. Creating a silhouette from artist canvas, Maimoona focused on the details within a painting to create a range of smocks, pleating and gathering to add volume.

Level 6 BA (Hons) Fashion student Sana Zubair took inspiration for her summer 22/23 alternative collection from the Japanese Kawaii sub-culture. Offering cute, playful, fun designs that use a bold range of fabrics, Sana created pieces that are comfortable and versatile to promote Japanese culture and values.

The BA (Hons) Fashion degree is designed to produce employment-ready graduates who can play leading roles in a range of fashion-related careers. The broad range of modules on offer allows students to develop a professional understanding of fashion design and the wider art and design practices supported by competitions, live projects, subject specialised visits, and industry-led presentations. Final collections will also be exhibited in the School’s summer show, allowing the garments to be viewed in more detail.
